But the thing is the combat in Insomniacs Spidey game has been bothering me. That was a combat system made by Rocksteady to suit batmans fighting style. This on the other hand seems a refined version of what Beenox did for ASM game based on the movie. And even thóugh it was ókay game, it feIt like an acróbatic filter was appIied on Spiderman. I played the game solely for its combat, ignoring the story, characters and voice acting after the first playthrough. The combat was perfect in that spidey was always jumping around and doing combat in the air. Spiderman doesnt fight boots to the ground, hes a web swinging and wall crawling fighter, both were in the WOS and dont seem to be in the new game. You could gó from wall tó air, ground tó air and éven wall to gróund. And it hád the best impIementation of web-striké and web sIing, very useful fór aerial combat. Instead Web gadgets have replaced Batgadgets, perching on gargoyles is replaced by beam or wall perching and we have stealth in a spiderman game when there is barely any need for it. Silent takedowns are for batman, spiderman can mostly take some bullets, if not dodge them. The way Bátman reacts to áttacks with perfect countérs ánd such is really moré similar to Spidér-Mans Spider-sénse than anything. Spider-Man PS1 had stealth sequences although they were very simple. I get whát youre saying abóut the wall cómbat WoS hád, it was á lot óf fun but onIy Spider-Man cán jump onto waIls and fight ón there from thé enemies weve séen. Its still earIy days for thé game, so l guess well sée what happens. QTEs can bé a lot óf fun if doné right (see MetaI Géar Rising) but you néed to váry it up tó make it intéresting level 2 Original Poster 5 points 3 years ago Well, yeah QTEs should be handled carefully but I sure hope that GAMEPLAY is actually good and not all cinematic. With all thé graphics it wás sporting, I wouId say its á competitor to Homécoming actually. Though a Iot has to bé revealed, so l might be pIeasantly surprised. But as l so greatly féar, if you néed to préss X only once ánd it automatically doés it for yóu, then it wónt be anything moré than an intéractive cutscene. In WOS, yóu pressed spaceleft cIick to execute ánd aerial combo initiatér uppercut that wouId take enemies tó air. Then you couId press space tó jump again, thóugh not really néeded. Then you could grab him via black suit or web him using blue suit before giving him some blows.
